Summer Heights High - New Tv Series HDTV Rip Comedy

Plot Outline

The series is shot in mockumentary style, with narration and a 'Reality TV' feel. It provides a humorous take on the modern Australian high school environment. The three primary characters all face challenges in this environment, and over the 8 weeks, the audience will follow them on their trials.

Characters

There are three primary characters in Summer Heights High:

Ja'mie King, a precocious 16 year old schoolgirl. Ja'mie featured in Lilley's previous series, We Can Be Heroes: Finding The Australian of the Year, where she attended Hillford Grammar, a private girl's school in Sydney. Ja'mie had in the past sponsored 85 Sudanese children as part of a World Vision programme, however her motives were not due to concern for the children's welfare. Rather she saw it as a way of gaining approval and fame, as well as a chance to legitimately go on crash diets in the form of '40 Hour famine's. In the new series, Ja'mie is on an exchange programme to a government school. Here she attempts to break down the barriers between herself and the 'pov' students in her midst. However, the barriers may prove to be impenetrable.

Mr. G, a deluded, effeminate and clueless teacher at the school. Mr G not only believes that he is an incredibly talented and well liked teacher, but also believes that his students share his intense passion for drama and performance. He is in constant conflict with other members of staff, particularly his Headmaster. He has written his own musical, "Tsunamarama", based on the events of the 2005 Tsunami disaster, with music by Bananarama. He dreams of performing on stage, and frequently likes to act out that fantasy in school assemblies. Mr. G has previously been featured on the Seven Network sketch series Big Bite [1].

Jonah
is a 13 year old school-boy at Summer Heights High. He is of Tongan descent and is a cause of worry for his teachers. He lives with his father, a strict and conservative man, however he acts up at school, treating his teachers with disrespect and bullying younger students. He is at risk of being expelled.
